picture of rocky ravineThe Annual  Lecture given by HACS for the benefit of visitors and residents of Herefordshire is  on Saturday 24th September 2016 at 18:00.
It’s free entry to all. The lecture is given by Professor Allen Fisher, HACS Patron, in The Meeting Room on the ground floor of The Courtyard.
The talk is a celebration of Romantic landscape paintings with an emphasis on particular aspects of design. Allen Fisher shows how many works continue to provide us with a wealth of enjoyment and contemplative thought.

From the sublime and lifted ideas of excitement to deep contemplations of nature, through the works of Caspar David Friedrich, J.M.W. Turner and Joseph Wright of Derby, complimented by some examples by John Constable and Thomas Girtin, continue to convey their relevance and importance.
