As an abstract painter, Stella Hidden’s paintings are entirely dependent on the language of colour, rhythm and form. Originally trained in technical drawing, Stella studied perspective and form and spent the early part of her career working in a drawing office before turning to painting. There has been a long personal transition between depicting representational elements of landscape and the human figure, to one of employing pure abstraction where movement of suspended colour is of prime importance.
