I am primarily an animal artist, specialising in horses and dogs, but more recently have developed a passion for landscape painting. I am fascinated by the way light affects the landscape and how it changes the way we see things. Contrasts and tonal values play a large part in my paintings. Through daily observation I’ve come to see how even the most ordinary of subjects, such as a country lane or the dappled light shining through a hedgerow, can inspire and uplift, and it is these simple aspects of our rural surroundings that I strive to bring to the canvas.
