Paula Jobson is a Hereford-based painter who creates wildlife and botanical portraits in pen, watercolour and acrylic paints.
Her latest series of paintings focuses on wildlife and botanical subjects. These pieces are created by first establishing a free-form background using a limited colour palette. Next, the subject is drawn directly onto the canvas with a fountain pen. Then, ink splashes are added and moved around, smudging and blotting as needed.
Paula works methodically and starts each session by establishing a connection with her subject, keeping it fresh and encouraging growth.
