My fascination with hidden enclosed gardens began when I was eight years old and read ‘The Secret Garden’ by Frances Hodgson Burnett. A childhood in the Far East introduced me to Mughal miniatures and the world of the Paradise Garden. Then, as an art student, I started painting my own imaginary gardens, inspired by Peter Malone’s illustrations for the book ‘Gardens of the Imagination’. I was hooked, and have painted nothing but gardens ever since.
I show my work nationally and locally, including the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours in London and the Royal West of England Academy Open Exhibitions. My work is published as greetings cards by Green Pebble and as Limited Edition giclee prints.
